HTI Plastics Reorganizes Production Floor for Better Work Flow

HTI Plastics state-of-the-art injection molding presses

Lincoln, NE – HTI Plastics recently changed the configuration of their 30 plus injection molding presses on their production floor for a better work flow and to increase productivity.  The reorganization of presses came after investing in three new Sodick presses last year and becoming a beta test site for a new line of electric presses from Krauss Maffei.    Krauss Maffei selected HTI Plastics to test one of their new all electric PX series injection molding presses.

Due to the reorganization HTI plastics now has presses running products of the same product line grouped together in the same location.  This helps increase productivity and reduces set-up time, thereby reducing downtime.

“By reorganizing our equipment to keep similar production in the same general floor location we are able to improve work flow and increase efficiencies,” said Scott Scheffert, Operations Manager at HTI Plastics. “In addition the reorganization helps to reduce operator travel time and material handling.”

A division of PCE, Inc., HTI Plastics has been in business for over 30 years. As an FDA registered, ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 registered company, HTI Plastics specializes in the design and production of a variety of custom and proprietary injection molded products.
