Injection Molding FAQ’s

We’re here to answer your questions about injection molding.

Q: What is injection molding?

A: Injection molding (or moulding) is the manufacturing process allowing for parts to be produced in large volumes. This is done by injecting molten materials into a mold (mould). It’s typically used as a large production process to manufacture thousands of identical products, and in our case, plastic products. Injection molding materials include metals, glasses, elastomers and confections, although it is most commonly used with thermoplastic and thermosetting polymers.

Q: How long does it take to make a plastic molded product?

A: This can very depending on if the customer already has a mold for the product already and transfers it to us. If not, the mold will need to be produced and then shipped to HTI Plastics. At that time, we’ll notify you regarding the timeframe on the actual manufacturing time.
