CUSTOM INJECTION MOLDED PRODUCT CAPABILITIES

HTI Plastics is an FDA registered, ISO 13485:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 certified contract manufacturer specializing in custom injected molded products. We offer professional product design from our in-house engineering department, tool maintenance within our in-house tool room, an automatic material handling system, a world-class quality management system and multiple secondary operations. We also feature an FDA approved assembly environment allowing us to offer clean room packaging for the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. HTI Plastics is your complete resource for contract manufacturing of high-quality custom injected molded products within the plastics industry.

Injection molding is a manufacturing process that turns raw plastic pellets into parts. The raw plastic is heated until it becomes a liquid and then injected under high pressure into a custom mold cavity. The heated material cools and hardens to the shape of the mold cavity, which can be either two- or three-dimensional. HTI Plastics can manufacture most custom projects for our customers due to our large mfg facility, professional and knowledgeable employees, and top of the line mfg equipment. In the plastics world, anything is possible relating to product manufacturing, and we’re here to help you accomplish your production goals, helping you succeed with your companies custom plastic product(s).

At HTI Plastics, the most popular materials are Polyethylene, Polypropylene, and Nylon. With materials (as with most things) the better properties come with a higher cost. Polyethylene is on the low end of cost and properties, but it provides a good mix of mechanical properties, chemical resistance, barrier properties, and processability that is very attractive for single use products and also some durable products. Polypropylene is similar to Polyethylene but slightly higher in performance – we gain some stiffness, it works well with glass filler for even higher stiffness, and it works great for living hinges. Polyethylene and Polypropylene are considered commodity resins because they are inexpensive and produced in massive volumes.  Moving up to higher performance you get into engineering grades of resin such as Nylon. Nylon further increases stiffness (especially with glass filler) and high temperature performance so it is suitable to be used in places where PE or PP would be near their melting points. There are hundreds if not thousands of grades of each of these materials so there are many different options to tailor each one to a customer’s needs.

Injection molding is used in many industries, including automotive, aerospace, medical devices, packaging and consumer goods.
